Marshal Dan Troop 70448
Puts in perspective the size of the area that 181 men had to defend, something no movie or TV series has done. This exhibit is at the Texas State Fair. .

Widder, SASS #59054
If your scale if fairly accurate, it looks like most of the walls were only about 10-12 feet tall, considering those Mexican troops were only about 5'7" tall. Is that true? ..........Widder
irish ike, SASS #43615
When I visited the Alamo I learned what actual took place. At least according to the Plaques in various locations. And seeing what was left of the original buildings. The battle didn't last 13 days. For 12 days Santa Ana waited for all of his troops and supplies to arrive. The Alamo was a launch point to take on Houston. The Alamo was just a stop before the actual battles were to take place. The walls in many locations were only 8' high. Meant to hold in livestock. For 12 days there were minor skirmishes. But mostly setting up artillery distances and sighting in. On the 13the day Santa Ana attacked in force. The battle lasted 3 to 5 hours. Hollywood and song writers took some liberties!
Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984
Looking at the walls of the Alamo, one must remember that the walls were repaired because the Alamo was used as an Army fort into the 20th century.
