Shooting magazines & American Riflemans

Pards,

I have been keeping many gun magazines through the years.

To some (like my wife) they are trash.  But I just hate to throw them out.

I really like to read the oldest ones from the '60s.

I've seen them stacked on tables at gun shows, but I don't go to them much anymore.

Does anyone have any ideas what to do with them?

Much obliged,

Mustang

I used mine for bullet penetration tests.  Stacked them all tightly and then put them in a wooden box sized for the magazines.  The magazines are stacked and set in the box on edge like files in a filing cabinent.

I give them to my son.

I only try to keep a few gun magazines that have articles with special interest for me. I do tend to keep more of the True West and Wild West  magazines with all of the historical articles and stories.

Maybe give them to a local veteran's group. They could give them to veteran's that are in nursing homes.

Take them out to your local range.  There are always gun magazines laying around the meeting room at mine.  People bring them in a leave them.  Somebody sees an article they want to take home to study, they take it.  Always something new/old to read.

I give mine to my daughter. She gives them out to the vets in long term care at the VA hospital.

Ask your local gun store if they would set them out for customers to take.  Do a few at a time & replenish as needed.

Thanks.  I own a local gun store.  The magazines are there for the taking.  But they don't hardly ever take any.

Thanks, Cholla.

After the Chinese virus had run it's course, we could donate pubs so I was leaving them there too.

And I found out that they were getting thrown out.

I have two young boys who are in to shooting. I grab all of these free magazines that I see and put them on this big desk we have in the office. Every once in a while we go through them looking at what's changed and what's stayed the same. We love the old ads of milsurp rifles for $39 and such.

Kids now don't know what it's like to be bored. I remember reading the yellow pages over and over, Sears catalogs, and anything else I could get my hands on.

i take my magazines to the gun range , there are folks that sit and read them , i supose a lot of people dont subscribe to the same things i do , i will not ever save them at home ,

i once had a collection of old national geo , about 30 years worth as well as all of them from 1929 to 1932 that were left to me by my grandfather , these with my 10 year subscription to playboy were a lot to move and store , ive no longer found that need ,

When I worked in an office, I'd take my mailing label off and take to the break room at work.

Take them to your doctor and dentist office, tire store, oil change place or any other place you spend time at waiting. I used to chat with my long time doctor about guns all the time. I got all his reloading stuff when he stopped doing that.
