I spoke to a veteran of The Sandbox a few years ago who told me that he recorded the serial number on the receiver of the M2 in his vehicle and contacted the manufacturer (Rock Island?) after his return. They told him it was built in 1934! And he told me exactly what Larsen says above. Glad to see the Army keeps us taxpayers in mind when maintaining valuable equipment.
