Whiskey Hicks
So I made a mistake and purchased a 12 gauge double receiver for a JW 2000 on Gunbroker. Is there any way for a smith to marry a different brand of barrel to it with some work?
Charlie Harley, #14153
Can it be done? Yes. With enough time, money, and a skilled ‘smith, it’s possible. Would it be worth it? Only you can make that call after doing due diligence.
Badlands Bob #61228
The best I can tell, the Century Arms JW-2000 shotgun brand new cost less than $300.00. You'd be better off going and finding another complete JW-2000 and using the receiver you have for spare parts, when needed.
Buckshot Bob
It’s all about finding the correct missing parts and pieces. This is one case where the internet is definitely your friend

Since Century Arms isn’t making them anymore anyways, using it for parts might actually be a boon I never thought of.
Pat Riot
This gun is a Chinese manufactured shotgun. Zhongzhou Machine Works JW-2000 12 Gauge Coach Gun Gun Parts Corp has some parts. No barrels https://www.gunpartscorp.com/gun-manufacturer/cai-century-arms/jw-2000-coach-gun Here is an owners manual that has a part’s breakdown. https://www.centuryarms.com/media/wysiwyg/pdf/CIA_JW-2000CoachShotgunManualFINAL.pdf Here is one on Gun Broker. Current bid is $485 with 2 days left on the click. https://www.gunbroker.com/Item/971315696 I couldn’t find any barrels or other parts.
Chantry
The answer is MAYBE For the JW-2000 shotgun, what gun did the Chinese copy it from? I doubt they designed it from scratch. However it isn't normally worth the money unless a person has the skills and tools do it themselves or the shotgun is expensive enough (sentimental or financial value) to justify the cost. From what I have heard the going price to make new barrels for a receiver is in the neighborhood of $15,000, but these are for high end British doubles. Injun Ryder, SASS #36201L
Just scrap it! I bought one of these in 2001 and it was such a piece of junk, I gave it to my gunsmith so he could use it for parts.
Cypress Sun
You can put Pirellis on a Yugo...but then all you have is expensive tires on a pos. Sell it.
Warden Callaway
There are companies that market "kits". Destroyed guns. May get lucky. https://everygunpart.com/long-guns-kits.html
Chickasaw Bill SASS #70001
most "project" guns , end up costing way more than what they are worth that is just the parts cost , when ya have to pay for someone else to bring it back then it becomes very expensive good luck Chickasaw Bill

I found an article that says the gun might be patterned after the 1878 Remington Coach Gun. https://americangunsmith.info/2019/03/05/century-arms-jw-2000/ I wonder if you could even find barrels rated for smokeless powder for an 1878. Maybe barrels from another makers gun that is a copy?
Pat Riot
Just some ideas for parts searches. 1878 Hartford https://www.tactical-life.com/firearms/shotguns/1878-hartford-coach-gun-12-gauge/ Cimarron 1878 Coachgun https://www.cimarron-firearms.com/1878-coach-gun-12-ga-20-barrel-standard-blue.html I think the Hartford above is actually a Pietta. https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/415014503/pietta+1878+hartford+coach+deluxe+12+ga+20+barrel+external+hammers

Whiskey Hicks
I was able to cancel the receiver order on Gunbroker. The vendor was very understanding. For the life of me, the vendor on EBAY with the 20 gauge barrels shipped nearly a half hour after the transaction already. I found a full set JW on Armslist just 40 minutes from me for a good cheap price. Now I’ll just resell the 20 gauge barrels for what I put into them.
