Cold Lake Kid, SASS # 51474 Posted February 24, 2023 Share Posted February 24, 2023 Here in Canada, with the ending of the LEGAL sale and/or transfer of Government REGISTERED handguns, we are looking at options that would allow potential new CAS shooters to join the existing, "Grandfathered" owners and posse members, shooting non traditional revolvers, in attempt to keep CAS alive until we can vote the current government from office and reverse the draconian measures foisted on LAW-ABIDING shooters. Sedalia Dave Posted February 24, 2023 Share Posted February 24, 2023 Rules vary buy club but in general Sharpshooter shoots the SASS rifle targets with their pistols. Their rifle targets are considerably farther out. Its for people that know how to use their sights. Indian Fighter shoot 5 guns instead of 4. The 5th gun is a rifle caliber rifle either single shot or SASS legal lever action. Rifle calibers are a minimum of 30 cal and no smaller than the 30-30. 30-40, 38-55, 45-70, 50-70, 56-50, 40-65 and similar period correct BP cartridges. 45 Colt and 44-40 are considered pistol caliber rifle cartridges and are not legal calibers for the rifle caliber rifle. Pistols, shotgun and pistol caliber rifle are shot at the same SASS targets everyone else shoots. Big bore rifle targets will be out 30 to 200 yards. Round count for the big bore rifle is usually 6 rounds. All rounds are shot off hand unsupported. Think combining SASS and Cody Dixon into one scenario.
