There's a seasonal creek, Ducker Creek, that runs through the trailer park and is lined with oak trees. In the fall of 2021 I could have stood in one spot almost anywhere along the creek and easily gathered five pounds of acorns. There were enough that I gathered a couple of pounds, checked online to find out how the Native Americans used them. The shelling, grinding, and soaking is a pain in the butt. The mush isn't bad.
