Dusty Morningwood Posted January 28, 2023 Share Posted January 28, 2023 SOLD This is a very nice example of the Model 1873 Springfield with Buffington sight upgrade. Chambered in .45-70. Original metal finish is probably 95%, with scattered spotting from light surface rust from long storage. The finish likely dates to sight upgrade in 1880s. Bore is excellent, bright and sharp. Wood is very good with no cracks or chips. Some dark paint or stain dripped on right side of butt. Buttplate has some pitting from storage. A great frontier side match rifle. $850 + Shipping.
