Always been a huge fan of the film (although I'm not, historically, a big Willie Nelson fan). 

 

Willie does a great good capturing what a short-fused Texan father sounds like scolding a less-than-competent "son" during the scene where Nelson and Busey are climbing the bluff above the river. I swear that I got almost the EXACT asterisk chewing from my Dad any number of times growing up!
