Lawdog Dago Dom
Just when you think Illinois legislators could not be any dumber, they are eager to show how you under estimated them. Also, for the faction of gun owners who don't worry about AR or high capacity gun bans because they don't own either, this should wake you out of your slumber. If you loan a buddy ammo at a match or while hunting, you will be a felon in the Land of Lincoln if this passes. "Oh, but it will never pass!" Uh huh. It should be painfully obvious to anyone, that this legislature will do what they want, when they want. And have the majority to do it. And a Governor that will sign it. https://edgarcountywatchdogs.com/2023/01/ever-give-ammunition-to-a-buddy-while-hunting-or-target-shooting-proposed-legislation-may-make-you-a-felon/ Link to comment

Hardpan Curmudgeon SASS #8967
Take heed. This is the case in california. If you come to a match in this state, you are required to bring your own ammunition with you - non-residents cannot legally buy ammo here. Also, if you run out (or perish the thought, forget to bring it with you!) you can neither buy nor borrow ammo. Also illegal for a resident to give or lend you ammo... we cannot even give or lend ammo to other residents. Nor can you give or lend it to a resident. And yes, we have to endure a background check every time we buy ammo. And we cannot buy ammo online for direct delivery; we have to go through an FFL. By the way - lead ammunition is illegal for all hunting, and they're trying to extend that ban to target shooting. Imagine what will happen to Cowboy shooting here when that happens. I truly hope you can prevent this nonsense in your state. Link to comment

With one besides not having to go through an FFL if the firearm is 50+ years old you can buy ammo from an out of state FFL. I think this was a provision added for CA residents that are sponsored competitors. A FFL 3 is cheap. Link to comment
