Finagler 6853 Life
A couple weeks ago I expressed my frustration with having been diagnosed with A-fib. Since then I've had more test performed on me than I thought possible. Funny thing is, well maybe not so funny, they can't find anything wrong with me. My blood chemistry is good, everything with in the normal limits if not on the lower side of the spectrum. My veins and arteries are clear from the ultrasound. Stress test came back good. Blood pressure is good. Everything is good. I don't smoke, have committed to scale back my adult beverages (liver function is normal) so the only thing I can think of that possibly could have triggered this is I have been under a bit more stress than usual but I think it is because of a surgical procedure I had in early December, which is a known causal factor. So tomorrow the doc is going to do one last ultrasound via my esophagus, to make sure there are no clots in my heart. If that clears, turn on the machine, CLEAR! ZAP! Hopefully it will take me out of A-fib and back into a normal rhythm. I sure hope this this thing works. Reading what some of you other guys are/have gone through, this is a b!tch. Heart flip flopping around, shortness of breath, light headedness. lack of energy. I have things to do. I have yet to become a problem for my kids. I have goals. I want to retire and become a bother to my wife. This is serious. So if you see me later and I have a glow about me, you'll know why. I wonder if they will have to turn the jump starter up to max voltage. UPDATE Things apparently went successfully. I'm home, flip flopping has stopped, heart rate is down in the normal range, shortness of breath is gone but I need a nap. Go back next week for a follow up. Thanks to everyone for your thoughts, prayers and good wishes. I think I have been given a second chance. Now if I can just resist temptation and behave myself. Linn Keller, SASS 27332, BOLD 103
Turning the Jump Starter up to max voltage! My old police partner had that done. Worked fine, cured his A-fib first try.

Marshal Dan Troop 70448
After my 2nd Covid shot a couple hours later felt slight chest pains which cleared up. That night when I laid down to sleep, I couldn't breathe. I had to sit on edge of bed and struggle to breathe. As I tried laying down again I again had problems. Found I could sleep sitting up. I just told wife I had breathing problems not wanting to worry her but did make an appointment with my Doctor who had me go to a heart specialist who confirmed A-Fib. Had the procedure done in and out patient but it lasted only a month when it started again. The Doctor recommended because otherwise in good health rather then go into artery in groin to the heart to shock it into rhythm (which is a dangerous procedure, had a friend die from a clot having this procedure). He put me on medicine and my heart still irregular isn't going the 140 to 155 beats per minute, rather 65 to 77, my oxygen is now 97 to 98% and blood pressure excellent. No shortness of breath neither. I take only 3 pills a day. To make a long story short, while at the hospital, many nurses and even my heart doctor and patients I now see in his office have said they have seen an increase in A-fib from Covid Vaccine patients. Several patients I talked to said they wish they had never gotten the vaccine shots and won't get any boosters, etc. Some were as young as only mid 20s. If I had even an inkling that these shots would also be detrimental to my health and cause heart or other problems, never would have.

Red Gauntlet , SASS 60619
Most A-fib is asymptomatic. I've had it for years with zero symptoms of any kind and no restrictions. [knocks wood....]

Tennessee williams
Yeah. I started seeing a lot of afib commercials on the boob tube this last year. Wonder if there's that connection they don't want us too know about? They're not zapping mine, I guess it's been going on too long. They're gonna do a cryo-ablasion on me. The afib is bad enough, but add in 3 pills to keep me in rhythm, one pill to help the heart contract, and a big bad blood thinner to help keep me from throwing a clot and it just sucks. Hopefully we'll feel like a new man soon! Good luck.
Sedalia Dave
My late wife lived with A-fib for a little over 20 years with no real issues as long as she took her meds. They tried the stop/start procedure twice but it never took.
Three Foot Johnson
I underwent electric cardioversion three times last year, but one of the sessions they zapped me twice, so only two sessions. So far, so good, but the chemical cardioversion drug they temporarily put me on afterward, amiodarone, about killed me, lol. It took a long time to recover from the side effects of that nasty drug. The second time I was converted was one of the most bizarre experiences I've ever had. I was wheeled into the procedure room, where there were about six people waiting. They had me roll onto my side to get the zap patch on my back, rolled back over and one was positioned on the front, the anesthesiologist put a mask on me, and plugged a big syringe of white knockout juice into the IV. I asked him if he wanted me to count backwards from 100 like they used to do. He said no, fiddled with the syringe for a second, asked me how I was doing, said he was going to adjust the oxygen mask, the doctor asked how I felt, the PA asked if I was doing OK, then they started wheeling me out of the room. I said, "Isn't this where you do the procedure...?" She said, "Oh, we already converted you, twice." There was absolutely no time gap, no distortion of reality, no realization of having "been under", no drowsiness, and I think I actually said, "Bullshit...". I pulled down the top of the gown, and sure enough, there was a ring shaped burn mark. (Not blistered or anysuch, just red like a sunburn)
Utah Bob #35998
Interesting. I have only heard of that being used on Vfib. My brother in law has had success with medication for his Afib.
