Duke Silverado, SASS # 67543
From the pistol holster, I have some ammo loops. If I throw out a live round from my rifle, can I retrieve ammo from the pistol loop and reload? Some say not legal, others say legal.....?

Abilene, SASS # 27489
I think it used to be illegal but was changed to legal some years back. But I'm too lazy to try to look it up now.

Ammunition required for loading/reloading during the course of any stage must be carried on the shooter’s person, in a bandoleer, cartridge/shot shell belt loop, holster cartridge loop, pouch, pocket, or be safely staged as required by stage instructions. This is a LEGAL method for carrying R/P ammo for stage reloads:
