Howdy,

I have quite a Christmas crowd.

50 mph wind darn near blowed my COAT off.

And minusssss 12 or 15 degreeez farinheight.

A good sized scoop of bird feed has the little fellas wing to wing for lunch.

Ive never seen so many on the feeder at once.

They cleaned out the first load.

So I put out a second one and they are back an bringed their feathered friends.

My dear dad fed em in the ezzact same spot for many years.

Ive seen migratory birds stop for a visit but not today.

Not much snow but it travels darn fast.

Best

CR

Hungry lookin cardinals got me to put out a third load too.

That wind is just so mean.

No birds are flying here and squirrels are elsewhere.

Using the tree limb wind scale, we have gusts to 50. The ambient temperature is minus 11. That puts the wind chill during gusts to about 45-50 below zero.

My visit to the Twin Cities from North Idaho hardly qualifies me as a Snow Bird!!!

I have 4 bird feeders that I maintain for my fine feathered friends. This morning with the snow and the wind all their avian rivalries seemed to vanish.

Got some nice photos through my kitchen windows.

Hopefully it will cause a few transplants to pack up and move back to where they came from.

We sure don't need any Californian, Portland, Oregon or King County, Washington sicko liberals to

migrate to Idaho.

Do you have Mrs. Cardinal too. We have one of 2 pair that seem to be wintering here. They always remind us of Ellie's departed Mom.

Bird feeders here tend to be bear feeders, every time the critters wake up.   They know where the feeders are and bee-line straight to them.   A bear can eat a whole 25# bag of sunflower seeds injust a few minutes!

Love feeding the dove, my beloved quail, and tweetie birds just over my back fence.   The quail will see me casting seeds over the fence into their feeding area and they come running and talking, letting other birds know "EASY FOOD!!"

Definitely the wild birds need the high calorie food as they burn a lot of calories staying warm through the night.

Photos I've taken of my feathered friends.

My friend’s grandson is considering moving back to California having lived in rural Montana the last six or eight years. When I asked him why he said “ The weather. It’s every year, I could stand it if it were only every few years but IT’S EVERY DANG YEAR!”
