Dusty Morningwood
Needs a New Home for the New Year. Just in time for Christmas. You deserve it. This is a pretty respectable example of an 1866 2nd Allin conversion Springfield rifle in .50-70. The bright metal of barrel is correct, with only minor spotting. Typical. Bore is very good plus, with sharp rifling. Lock is dated 1865 with sharp Eagle/US SPRINGFIELD. Action tight and crisp. Hinge marked Eagle 1866. Wood is in very good antique condition, with minimal bumps and scratches. No cracks. Ramrod channel nice and smooth. Ramrod is correct concave tip muzzleloader style. Comes with 18 new and 2 fired cases, Dixie (Bertram) and Starline (Ignore photo. Other two were still in tumbler). Difficult to upgrade and ready to shoot. $900 + Shipping. La Sombra
Nice looking rifle. I get mine back from the gunsmith next week after a thorough cleaning. It is the one that I learned the lesson of 50-110 brass not being able to be cut down to 50-70. It will fire but not extract! Muley Gil SASS # 57795
That appears to be a British Enfield ramrod, not a Springfield ramrod.

Here is another one from the Joe Salter web page. I believe there were two models. One tulip shape and one like this.

Cyrus Cassidy #45437
Pard, mark that gun sold. Can it be shipped to me or does it have to go to an FFL? If the latter, I'll get the FFL for you.
