Griner exchanged for arms dealer

Recommended Posts

But they're leaving the journalist from what I've seen. At least she now come home and disrespect the USA again.. She/it could have rotted there for all I care. Once again, coddle the criminal and trade for a real bad one.

Nope, now she'll be even more entitled and will still stay in the locker room during the anthem.

I wonder if that ignorant b**** will have a new appreciation for her home country?

I doubt it.

No, she'll still hate the US. She'll go stand next to Biden and the clueless, smirking Harris while he touts his "diplomacy". I guess trading a terrorist for a doper was the "more important thing" that Biden was talking about rather than visiting the border and seeing what is really going on there...not that he cares.

Griner should have to finish out Bout's sentence in the same prison.

Bout will be touted as a "hero". This won't be the last time Americans will hear from Bout.

I think the color and LBGQTRDSKL was probably more important than the doper or athlete part in getting her traded.

But I have not seen what happened to the non-black, non LB G(whatever) journalist.  Hope he was included. I hope this Admin doesn't think only Black lives matter.

Nope, he wasn't included. No glory in saving a journalist, can't claim how good we were to save a "black LGBTQ... drug smuggler.

Remember when we used to say no deals with terrorists, Obama gave back 8 I think, and now Bout for a person who admittedly broke the law and publicly disrespects our country. Shame on them. I'm disgusted and Grumpy.

Meanwhile a Marine sits in prison there Paul Whelan for 4 years and they ignore his family . But what else to expect from a Country that holds MARSOC 3 in the brig since 2019 with no trial

Now, I have heard that "there is no such thing as an ex-Marine".

It seems to me though, that once they court martial you, find you guilty, and give you a bad conduct discharge - you're pretty much an ex-Marine.

He's not a Marine. He's certainly not a retired Marine. He's a Marine-reservist who got kicked out for stealing.

Whether or not he's a spy - I have no idea. But he's certainly not an American Hero.

At least Griner will get a book deal and movie rights that make up for her paltry salary they complain about in womens soccer.

According to a deposition Whelan gave in 2013, he was in law enforcement from 1988 to 2000 as a police officer in Chelsea, Michigan, and a sheriff's deputy in Washtenaw County.[7] The Chelsea Police however said he worked in lesser roles and as a part-time officer from 1990 to 1996, while the Washtenaw County sheriff reported no record of his employment.[7] A former colleague said he was a patrol officer from 1998 to 2000 in the Keego Harbor police department.[7]

He was an IT manager for the Kelly Services staffing company from 2001[8] to 2003, and then 2008 to 2010. From 2010 to 2016 Whelan was Kelly Services' senior manager of global security and operations.[8]

He enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve in 1994.[7] He took military leave from Kelly Services to serve with the Marine Corps Reserve from 2003 to 2008, including service in Iraq. He held the rank of staff sergeant with Marine Air Control Group 38 working as an administrative clerk and administrative chief, and he was part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.[8] After a court-martial conviction in January 2008 on multiple counts "related to larceny", he was sentenced to 60 days restriction, reduction to pay grade E-4, and a bad conduct discharge.[9][10] The specific charges against him included attempting to steal more than $10,000 in 2006 in Iraq and using a false Social Security number to create a false account on a government computer system to grade his own examinations[citation needed].

When arrested in Russia, Whelan was director of global security and investigations for BorgWarner, an international automotive parts manufacturer based in Michigan.[8] His work with Kelly Services and BorgWarner gave Whelan contacts with law enforcement in many countries.[citation needed]

Whelan traveled to Russia several times from 2006 and maintained an intermittent presence on a Russian language social media website, Vkontakte (VK), where he had approximately 70 contacts. He has studied Russian but communicated online using Google Translate.[11][3] Whelan supported US President Donald Trump and, after Trump's 2016 election victory, Whelan posted in Russian Президент Трамп Вперед!! (President Trump Onward!!).[12][a]

He said in a deposition in 2013 that he holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and an MBA degree.[13] He took courses at Northern Michigan University from fall 1988 to fall 1990 without earning a degree.[11]

Well as a Marine I wont argue that point , but if you look into  the whole story Something just doesn't sit right , Admin clerk for a Air wing , that  leaves a IT manager and returns as a Global Security Specialist  and had 80k confiscated when he arrived in Russia ???
Personally I dont have a duck in that race ,  and could care less and not saying he is innocent  either but Grinner for a Arms dealer LOL

I agree it was a bad deal for sure. It was a political move to appease the left. Biden is a hero to them.

Putin knows the public uproar over leaving an ex-marine while saving an unpatriotic athlete will force Biden to desperately deal and make really big concessions for the ex-marine.

Who would know? Nobody attends WNBA games. If they get 275 folks in the seats, that's an attendance record. Of course, they gave out 150 of those tickets as a promo.

Somebody please tell me how letting a dangerous arms dealer loose, one that they spent decades trying to catch, in exchange for a spoiled brat who got herself into trouble is a good idea. I don't see how even the most hardcore liberal would think this was a smart thing to do.

This smells exactly like the Bergdahl deal! Oh, wait a minute; joe was an understudy to barack at the time, wasn't he? Dems are experts at sucking up to dictators and commies while simultaneously treating American citizens like doggie do.

You can’t put hardcore liberal and think together. They just regurgitate talking points

Simple the CIA will use him to deliver arms to regimes we don’t want to support directly, but can maintain deniability. They didn’t just trade the merchant of death for a pop culture nobody.

Guarantee you if she was a white female, or male, registered Republican voter, she would spend the rest of her life in Russian prison before any Democrat president would even make an attempt to get her out.  One less Republican voter.

Boycott all professional sports and their sponsors.

I’m sure we do, but maybe not the kind that can move the quantity of product that this guy did for years. Something stinks bad.

I’m thinking this guy is going to be more useful to Putin and the CCP than us
