Have a H&R Buffalo classic in 45/70 with a Lyman tang sight 750 shipped to your ffl. Can send photos if interested.
Big Gus.

I'd like to see a pic of how you installed the tang site. One was sorta carved into my rifle when I got it, but it's intolerable on my thumb. :P

Best sight for a buffalo classic is a 1901 krag carbine sight. Needs just a slight modification to fit right over the chamber using already drilled and threaded holes. Have about six fitted to several Buffalo classic, H&R shakaris, and handi rifles. Has elevation and windage adjustments plus peep and ladder sights. https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https://oldarmsofidaho.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Krag-1894-Rear-Sight-Assembly-1-rotated.jpg&imgrefurl=https://oldarmsofidaho.com/product/krag-jorgensen-1894-rear-sight-assembly/&tbnid=HTcyxOfXWeWQwM&vet=1&docid=ZRq2VuHdWkNp0M&w=2160&h=2160&source=sh/x/im

If you are interested, I will soon have a Navy Arms (Pedersoli) rolling block rebored to .50-90. Attached are a few pics to give you an idea of its look (I do not have in my possession yet).  It will include a vernier tang sight I have sitting on my bench.

I like the Smith Enterprises sight on mine.  Check out Smith enterprises Old West Division.  Screws right on a Buffalo Classic, can be used with Lyman 17a front sight, full buckhorn when ladder is down and good to 1000 yds if you can see that far. Price $200.00 availability has been spotty in the past.
