Bear sign

Alpo

Recommended Posts

In the Louis L'Amour books, he refers to donuts as bear sign. And one book someone asked why this was, and he was told to look at them. They look like it.

This has always puzzled me.

First, is he talking about tracks or poop? I've heard both referred to as sign.

Secondly, donuts as I am used to seeing them are circles. Round sweet cakes with a hole in the middle.

I have seen pictures of both bear footprints and bear poop. Neither one looks like a donut to me.

Can anyone explain to me why donuts would look like bear sign?

Around here they look like Alpo's second pic or very loose with berry seeds. In early fall, corn.

Many people agreed that it looked like it to them.

Someone else posted this.

Just like humans, bears can have various states of feces. I have seen some that are runny enough to look like cow patties. Just depends on what they are eating.
