Question for folks with kids in diapers

Does not really matter whether they are your children or your grandchildren or your great-grandchildren.

Back when I had anything to do with kids in diapers, there was this stuff called baby powder. You took off the wet and or poopy diaper, and you wiped the kid's little butt, and then you sprinkled powder on him.

Over the last 10 or 15 years, TV shows and movies, whenever they change a diaper they don't use powder. They use lotion.

Is lotion better than powder? If so, why?

Everyone in the trades where I used to work had a truck to get around the plant, and one of the big jokes was to pour a bunch of baby powder down the windshield defroster vents and then turn the fan on full blast so when the unsuspecting victim keys the ignition :)

After it happened to you, you learned to always check the fan speed setting

Tried the talc briefly with our first. Powder was everywhere and had to dusted off nearby furniture, no matter how carefully one sprinkled. Most annoying was we found it caked in the folds of baby’s skin, creating a paste that had to be removed with the other stuff. Didn’t see the point of it.
