Went to ship today, from individual to FFL as I have done before, just a few weeks ago. UPS said “no can do”

Has anyone set up “an approved firearms shipping account”?  I called the number and agent said a specialist would call me within several business days to help set up my account…..humm.

my WONDERFUL UPS Driver and I were talking about this the other day.  They are making it VERY difficult for private individuals to ship a firearm LEGALLY to a gunsmith and back.

Hugs!

Since when is that a rule, a year ago i was shipping with UPS with zero issues now i have to have an account with them.

Since when some of our government officials started pressuring the shipping companies to change their policies.

And again I recommend https://www.shipmygun.com/go/.

Using SMG allows you to use UPS 2nd day air which is half the cost. They have an agreement with UPS and are a part of Bud's Gunshop. The ONLY two draw backs are you need to ship it from a UPS hub, not a dealer, agent, or UPS store, and the receiving FFL has to send their information to shipmygun and become a receiving agent. This seems like a good idea to bring in business and their website lists receiving dealers by zip code.

the owner of a large scale gun parts company told me they told him they would no longer service his account , this may actually work to the advantage of the other shippers and it may bite UPS in the butt down the road , i know they think if the marginalize those of us that own guns and the dealers that serve us they can eliminate us but ..........i dont think so , its a jungle out there , and one day the jungle will close in on them , they may need us after they eliminate the ppolice , but ill not be inclined to help ,

I'm wondering if this is being followed differently in each state? I literally just shipped a rifle and a handgun yesterday from UPS. They did not ask for my FFL, only the FFLs they were being shipped to.  They took them no questions asked. The attendant did not know I was an FFL holder.

Sounds good, but they are still using UPS. I think I will avoid using UPS for all my shipments in the future!!!!

This is a possible major development/detriment for those that deal with anything connected with firearms, using any of the 3 big shipping entities.

Such as, but not limited to auction house's, firearms parts companies/vendors, gunsmiths for shipping to and from for repairs/upgrades, shipments across state lines..etc...

I will watch this unfold.

Maybe driving 8 to 15 hours to drop off firearm(s) to be sold, traded, repaired or modified, might become common place?  Tis one way to see the great USA...:FlagAm:
