Linn Keller, SASS 27332, BOLD 103
(admiring whistle) So many times, I've found things that remind me there are truly skilled people out there. This is one such!
Forty Rod SASS 3935
When I was about seven years old my dad, who had done a lot real live cowboying, and some lumber jacking in his day, turned a card table upside down in our family room and taught me how do a lot of that with an old-fashioned hemp lariat. He started me out with a plain old half hitch and went on to several others. I used some of them until I got out of the Army in 1969 and then never did again. I just went out to my work shop to see if I could still do any. I'm still pretty good with a half hitch. The rest just don't recognize me any more. They ignored me completely. Good thing I need that skill like I need the mumps.
