It's not bad for a rock n roll drum solo, it's not exactly Buddy Rich but I always liked it! It starts around 4:10

It satrts

Since there are two guys banging on the drums, I don't believe that can correctly be called a drum solo. A drum duo, maybe.

Good point, maybe a dual drum solo
Most bands that did covers only had one drummer and believe it it or not,  it can be done by one drummer.

I always used to turn the stereo up for that.

And now folks, a REAL drum solo from the master himself!

Listening to a drum solo is somewhat anti climatic. You have to see a master like him with a solo. His one handed drum roll is incredible. I got to see him live many years ago over at Idora Park. (Rye knows where Idora is)

Youngstown I believe!

You're right about the one handed rolls that Buddy does. I met him at a gig that I was playing at. Long story!

When I was in HS He sometimes played in the daytime week ends at a club off Times Square (I think) I was underage so couldn't go in.  There was a sightline from the door to the bandstand and I can recall watching him play from the sidewalk several times.  Amazing!

R.M. thanks for posting this.
I've always enjoyed the studio cut, but this is exceptional in every aspect, and 100% "live".
The skill of the musicians is stellar... the kiddie bands can't do this level of performance as a live take.

I, actually, like that song and the story behind it.

Aaah, the misspent youth.
