Back in the early eighties, when I did route sales, I walked into one of my convenience stores, and there was a shopping cart full of - something, I don't remember what it was - and there was a big sign on the cart.

ON SAIL

I told the store manager that he had misspelled sale, and he said that he was aware of that, but that people would stop and look, because the misspelled word caught their attention. He said that since he changed the spelling, his sales had increased by about 80%.

It's not a drive through.

About half a mile away.

SRPD Traffic Team Investigating Solo Vehicle Collision Into Oliver's Market at Montecito Center

On February 13, 2026, at approximately 11:49 a.m., Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD) officers and Santa Rosa Fire Department (SRFD) personnel were dispatched to Oliver’s Market, located 560 Montecito Center, for a report of a vehicle that had driven into the front of the store.

Upon arrival, officers located a dark red Hyundai Tuscon that had collided with the front of the building and entered into the check stand area. Several individuals sustained minor to moderate injuries and were treated at the scene before being transported to a local hospital for further medical care.

The driver, an adult female, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The cause of the collision is still being investigated by the Santa Rosa Police Department Accident Investigations Team. The investigation remains ongoing.

The store is expected to remain closed for at least the remainder of the day.

Some people just don't get the concept of what a Drive Thru is supposed to be!

And the driver wasn't injured.  She had recent surgery on her right foot and was wearing a protective boot , speculation is that her foot somehow got wedged and in trying to free it she pressed down hard on the throttle.

He said you could not make it explode without a blasting cap.

I have heard of people pinching off a chunk and sitting on fire to warm up their c-rats in Vietnam. And I have also heard that when their rations were sufficiently warm and they needed to put the fire out, if they stomped on it it had the tendency to blow their foot off.

I wonder if he's wrong or if the stories I've heard are wrong?

I will leave that to mythbusters. I ain't going to set that on fire and then stomp on it to find out.
