That was a college assignment - to go to a church different from where you normally went. After they did the offering they announced - everyone that put money in the plate stand up. If you put more than 2% of your salary in the plate remain standing. If you put more than 5% of your salary in the plate remain standing. They got it up to 25%. And I'm thinking, well that is the first and last time that I would ever go to that church. But the panel discussing these funny things with two guys and a girl, and the girl makes the statement, "yes, that's a black church". Damn. Even if I thought that, I sure wouldn't say that when I was being recorded. They said that Denzel Washington was that that church service, and he was still standing at the "more than 25% of your salary". Now I have no idea what kind of money he makes, but I remember hearing about Eddie Murphy making $50 million dollars for one movie. That averages $960,000 a week. Years ago, we had a bumper sticker that read, "Don't Californicate Colorado!" Well, they done it! The only municipality that is worse than Denver is The People's Republic of Boulder!
