Boulder Canyon Bob# 32052L
Found this at a not so local pawn shop, I looked at it a couple of weeks ago, but it kept calling my name.No markings on it. Tag said 38-55 and my Highwall loads do chamber, nice 6 power Malcolm scope. I thought it was a Ballard, but I've never seen one with internal hammer. Picture is a little out of whack cause I couldn't be still enough for a Pano shot Added a pic of the receiver next to my Highwall.
Big Gus, SASS# 66666
similar action Sharps-Borchardt Model 1878 Short Range Rifle
Boulder Canyon Bob# 32052L
Yeah, that certainly looks like the action. Thanks
Reverend P. Babcock Chase
Howdy BC Bob, My first impression was the 1878 Sharps Borchardt. However on closer inspection of the photo in comparison with the original, it looks like someone's idea of a reproduction. The action looks shorter but maybe that's the photo. In any event it's a unique and kind cool gun. Especially if you got a deal on it and it shoots well. Rev. Chase
The Rainmaker, SASS #11631
It looks to me like someone modified a hi-wall action. Definite hi-wall shape to the frame and the stock throws ya off.
Goody, SASS #26190
I remember a Wickliffe 76 that might be the answer, but am unable to find much info on it.

Thanks, the few pics of the Wickliffe I found all had external hammers, this one doesn't.
Colorado Coffinmaker
Don't have a clue what it is, or was. It does however, have some really nice lumber on it Changed my mind. I'm betting it was built on a Ruger #3 action.
Reverend P. Babcock Chase
Howdy Single Shooters, Co. Coffinmaker, you may be right; however there would have been a lot of metalwork done on the receiver and lever. You're right about the wood. Rev. watab kid
unless the photos decieve its been refinished - the plumb color is indicative of that , but i think you got a real fine looking rifle there , i like that a lot id have bought it ,
Griff
Could very well be a shop made copy of the Sharps Borchardt.
Reverend P. Babcock Chase
Howdy again, I forgot to mention the plumb color. That color has been seen on both iron (old) and investment cast (newer) receivers. I don't know if either applies here but it might jog someone else's thinking. Rev.
