Bourbon recommendation

I’ll throw in a vote for Bulleit as well. My usual is Evan Williams black label but they’ve recently come out with a white label “Bottled in Bond” version that’s pretty dang tasty.

I'm a big fan of Henry McKenna Sour Mash Bourbon.  If I can find a bottle, I intend to try their single barrel 10 year bourbon.  The single barrel won a competition a couple of years ago, and you can't hardly find it now.

I also agree with Bulleit Rye.

Horse Soldier is a fantastic bourbon in that price range. For a little more, get the silver barrel strength bottle, as good as it gets and it's 120ish proof so sipping straight or on ice is about the best I've tried. A get together of my old marine unit, we had this and a bottle of pappy. No kidding, most(including me) preferred the silver label Horse Soldier.i bought it for the fantastic true story behind it, but the taste and smoothness won everyone over.

And Bulliet is always in my cabinet. Both Bourbon and Rye.

If it was good enough for Skeeter it’s good enough for me

I'll add:

Knob Creek 9 year

Bib and Tucker

Woodford Reserve

Russle Reserve 10 year

Bulleit 10 year

Elijah Craig

Old Forester 1897 on up

Knob Creek 9 year Rye

Sazerac Rye

I have enjoyed them all.

Maybe I should change my alias to Bartender.

Or El Borrachon. :o

Howdy,

And I found a set of four at the goodwill for 1.29 each.

I used up some good luck that afternoon.

Best

Now I just need the little wood upside down dry rack......

When I drank liquor my favorite bourbon was Jim Beam Black. Had some Jack Daniels that was good once, I think it was Gentleman Jack (and yes I know it's not bourbon but tastes like it to me). By and large I'm too cheap to buy expensive stuff.

Don’t have room for a rack. Thank goodness for cabinets.

I treat myself to a bottle a year.  My favorite.  I've had a sample of one of their older ones, even better, I think I deliberately forgot which because there are limits to what I'll spend in pursuit of my vices.

I cannot honestly recommend Willets because I have never tasted it.  But a bottle shaped like a still is intriguing.  Have any of you tasted this? Opinions?

I am always a little suspicious of fancy bottles.  Prefer they spend on the contents.  I'm sure Willet is a good one, heard of it, but I passed on another that the liquor store recommended because the bottle was very fancy, a sort of odd ellipse.  Can't recall the name but a known one.
