Here it comes....

Recommended Posts

Here it comes... more heat, leading up to a forecast 113° by Tuesday.  Unfortunately, where I am we tend to run a few degrees above the projected temperature.   :(

We'll break 100° and the A/C is down.  Repairman possibly Friday with a week of hot ones forecast.

I have found that bribery goes a long way in circumstances such as this. ;)

Don't see a lot of that out here, probably more in the cities.  This guy has been absolutely great.  He moved and I was afraid he was out of the trade.  Was delighted to catch him face to face.  He'll be here as quick as he can, house is well insulated and we have a few tricks to stay cool.  Winter is a different story - he's arrived at suppertime and worked till 9 to get us running.

If I was an AC repairman and had to go fix it in the heat I may be open to that!

It helped me twice in the past. Once in Molalla Oregon and once in SoCal. Once it was a no-go, so two out of three ain’t bad. ;)
Both times it helped, I offered $100 cash if they showed up that day. The guy in Oregon jumped on it. The guy in SoCal said make it $150 and you got a deal. He was talking 3 days out before he could get there. I gave up the $150. In both instances a component failed and I don’t know AC’s well enough to be messing around with them.

We've had the Summer from Hell since May, but not that bad.  Be sure to keep your thermostat at 80 so they can charge the electric cars out there.

JHC;)

Here in central CA, nobody can afford to set a thermostat below 80.  And some folks spend north of $1,000/mo just to maintain at 80.

As electricity costs continue to climb here, the "progressive green" EV owners are going to be reconsidering all the "destroying  the planet" mythology.

We are set to 80 for this exact reason.

I have a mister setup and shade umbrella ready to go for my condenser unit when the Big Heat arrives next week.
My 3.5 ton unit cannot keep up when the temps are 110 and more.

Uglier.
More traffic, more bums, more building, more crime, more congestion, more shootings (downtown), nightly ghetto bird (helicopter chasing thugs).
Almost daily car-motorcycle accident(s) (why I sold my Harley).

Sacramento was the only region that made 100% of normal rainfall last year.
Go figure.
