Most singers on most shows would lip sync to the record, but he would actually sing the song, and he never did it the same as he did on the record. Occasionally he would change a word or two, but mostly it was just the tempo. He would speed it up or he would slow it down or he would stick in a pause that wasn't there on the record. I'd be sitting there singing along with the show, and all sudden I'd be singing and he wouldn't. Later I came to appreciate that kind of thing, but when I was 20 I wanted what I was used to, and that's not what he gave. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
