Hardpan Curmudgeon SASS #8967
On July 31, we lost another good man. Godspeed, Jack Hannah. His rich, deep voice was the foundation of the Sons of the San Joaquin, the wonderful "pure cowboy" musical group trio - Jack, his older brother Joe, and Joe's son, Lon. Educators, coaches, and men of faith all in their "other lives."
Dusty Devil Dale
Jack was a nearby neighbor and friend for over 25 years. He was (and still is) one extremely fine person-- grace, faith, strength, charity, humility, talent, love, and genuine warmth. It's really tough to see him go. I'd better stop here-- very upsetting. (Jack died from a bad case of West Nile Virus and complications)
Capt. James H. Callahan
Got several of the Sons albums. Magnificent voice. Kinda reminded me of Johnny Western but a little deeper. JHC
