My wife brought this cheese home from the store the other day and I really like it. It’s fairly hot but not overpowering. Had it on a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch and a hamburger tonight, I’m hooked.

Pepper Jack ~ a long time staple in the Hardpan household.  ^_^

We had tried it when it first became a staple in supermarkets.  But it varied wildly in heat, even from the same company.  Either it was, "Eh! they added some bell pepper to it," or "GOODLORD!  My tastebuds might function again in a month." so we rarely bought it.  Tried it again in 2020 when we stayed overnight at the boss' place when we had to bug out for the Glass Fire.  A little heat, but not blast our heads of.  Tried a few brands and now it's a fairly regular thing.
Pretty much the same thing with hot links, either they are so mild that they don't deserve the name or so hot for us that all we taste is the hot.
