I'm working on a lathe, and another student set up at a nearby reciprocating hacksaw. I was focused on my work and paid no attention to him - I did NOT see him clamp the .50 BMG round into the saw and proceed to cut it in half, lengthwise. Well... not surprisingly, in short order that li'l munition indeed did "cook off" in a MOST convincing manner. Not sure if it was concussion or just the surprise that caused the dummy to flop backward off the short stool he was perched upon.
