Johnny Knight Posted May 15, 2023 Posted May 15, 2023 Got the new Henry out for a chance to put a few rounds down range. Had a chance to see what the 'Henry Hop' was all about. Discovered two things: first, I'm going to need a good bit of time to get used to the gun; second, shooting blackpowder, that steel barrel gets hot fast... Whether I'll be up to speed for shooting it at the Showdown will depend on whether I can get some range time in with it..... Regards, Johnny

Johnny Knight Posted May 25, 2023 Posted May 25, 2023 Haven't had a chance to put more rounds through it yet, I've been busy working up loads for APP in brass shotgun shells. I've now got a load that has been working well. I'll get back to the Henry after shooting Texas State this weekend.

In years past we have even had buckles for Senior Classic, BP Classic, Classic Cowgirl, 1860 Henry and many more awards! Cowtown Scout, SASS #53540 L Posted June 21, 2023 Posted June 21, 2023 I checked in at the range today about 4:30 and got my packet and saw the posse list. Told only one flight and we all have the safety meeting Friday morning at 7:30. And yes the wind was blowing some they had a Giant US flag flying from a crane but they were taking it down when I left. Could be for protection overnight from winds and storms. Will be great to see everyone when they get here. Sorry some of will be missing this shindig.
