General Ledger
So I have THOUSANDS of .38 special & .357 brass to sell. I don't plan to count the brass, but am wondering if anyone has an idea as to how many pieces of brass there are per pound of .38 and .357? Thanks!!! Sedalia Dave
Depends on the head stamp. Different manufacturers cases are all slightly different enough to matter when it comes to measuring by the pound.
Nickel City Dude
Count out 100 & weigh them. This will tell you about how much 100 pieces weigh, then multiply that by what the entire lot weighs and this will tell you approximately how many cases you have. It is not exact but when dealing with several thousand it will come close.
Zach Taylor,SASS#14359
Two boxes of 38's weigh about one pound, Georgia Arms will give you credit for your brass when buying from them. I weighed mine for the sale and two boxes weigh around 1 pound. Naturally, 45's will weigh more.
Cypress Sun
Use the chart below for approximate numbers. If you want exact counts...you'll have to manually count them. https://www.armorally.com/brass-counts-by-weight/
