Flaco Joe
This is a nifty little thingamabob. It’s a conversion sleeve that allows you to fire .22 LR ammo through a .45 Colt. You simply drop a .22 round into the device, then chamber the device into a .45 Colt chamber. The .22 is off-set so that the firing pin strikes the rim. There is only one, so your six-shooter can only fire one .22 at a time. I suppose you could insert it into rifle chambered in .45 Colt, but I wouldn’t try to cycle it through the action - just finger it in single-shot style. I don’t see any practical application for this thing, but it’s a fun range toy. $25 shipped.

runs with scissors
Am I missing something? It seems like the .22 wouldn't line up with the barrel?
Solomon Kane 18264
Is there rifling in the device?
Flaco Joe
You’re right that it won’t line up with the barrel. The .22 round would simple fly down the middle of the .45 barrel without making contact with it. No, there is no rifling. The .22 round fills the device to the tip. There really isn’t a way to aim this thing out of a revolver. The bullet would exit the barrel without spin and be pretty inaccurate. You might get a little more accuracy firing it out of a single-shot .410 shotgun, but even that would be sketchy. As I said, this is a range toy and not a practical adapter.
