IAC will be better on average, unless it's two digit year ID in the left end of the serial number is 04 or earlier.  In that case, either will be IFFY.

Both IAC and Polytech guns were from Chinese factories, just two different factories.  IAC came from the Norinco factory, which has a somewhat better reputation.  Polytech quit making 97s several years before Norinco/IAC ended the production runs.

good luck, GJ

Which one is better and more durable.

Which one is serving your needs better?   That would be the one I would use.

I've never owned nor shot the Polytech.   But my IAC models serve me very well.

As GJ mentioned above, the first 2 digits in the serial number of the IAC can often give a good indication of the quality of the shotgun.

As their reputation started to earn favorable points, it seems the higher digit numbers were favored by many, such as the 09 and the CB (Cowboy)

models.

Hey, if you can run the polytech well, go with it.   Otherwise, I would pick the IAC.

I have not Ben using either. I purchased the Cimarron first have only used it occasionally. I prefer the SxS for cowboy.

I recently started wild bunch so started using one. I have never shot the

IAC.
I was thinking of selling one so I thought I’d get opinions on which is better.

The cereal number starts CB 014

You must be living right because to possess and OWN a low numbered CB model is something to be proud to keep.

A couple of my fastest 97's are CB models.   And, they are durable.
