This dog still hunts, and carries a .44 Rem Mag Ruger Redhawk Super Alaskan in dangerous bear and moose country, where I'll be in four weeks HELL YEAH!  Load it up with Buffalo Bore's hardest hitting hardcast gas check ammo, and at least you've got a fighting chance, if all else fails.  (Everyone carries a bear spray canister too.)  These are awesome tools for anyone who needs them, and the Super Alaskan is NOT FUN to practice shooting with full power ammo.

Folks should be ALL OVER THIS at RG's lowered price, which in truth is too good to be true, but I'll bet it is true.  If I didn't already have one, I would now.

I ride in the same posse with Rob, he’s the real deal.

If I was going to jump for another revolver I don't need, it would be the Alaskan.
There is something intriguing about a 44 in that small size.
At 2.81 lbs, it is still a heavy weight.

I've always carried a .357 Mag Colt Trooper Mk III 4" when hunting in places were Buffalo Bores HEAVY OUTDOORSMAN 180 gr hardcast round is plenty good enough.  I still carry it in such places and wear that on the hip.  When I started going places that needed more gun and got the Alaskan, I found the Alaskan to be too heavy for all-day hip carry while hiking and hunting, so now it resides in a Gunfighters Inc Kenai chest rig -- which I cannot say enough good things about.
