I ordered enough to replace ‘em all, but it puts most of the shop in the dark for a few days!

I am really GRUMPY!

The other day, the TV started showing The Blue Screen of Death.

After a lot of switching around of cables and other TVs, came to the conclusion it was the service providers box.

Tried their on line "Chat" feature and finally gave up after the 5th or 6th "I don't understand."  I think it was AI on the other end and not a real person. I finally typed in "You win! I give up1" and signed off.

Big Red got home and tried phoning. Success ! 

New converter to arrive by Purolator. (' cause Canada Post is going on strike! Just in time for Christmas)

OOPS Anther converter arrives

And Another

All of which have to be returned, I suppose with letters of explanation.

 

The knee problems mean I can't upland bird, moose or deer hunt or walk very well.  Too painful

And not only that!

I can't target shoot with the Sharps or the Hiwal or even the Garand I just got, with anything approaching accuracy, 'cause of the dang cataract that's decided to set up in my right eye!

AND the eye Doctor is booked pretty solid, so first appointment?

Got ya’, CLK!! Thankfully, with the exception of some, “I gotta use readers for up close”, my vision is still really good!

 

Got a bad knee that is going to have to wait a long time.  I’ve had enough surgery lately to tide me over for a WHILE! (Y’all all know about that!)

 

Been off my feet and laid up so long that I get winded walking the hundred or so feet to the shop!  
 

I hope you get fixed up and healed up quickly!  Keep pushing for earlier treatment and try to stay moving!

 

Getting back into some semblance of shape is gonna be tough for me. I can tell!

 

Your post gives me pause!  The pharmaceutical situation up there gets lots of lip service down here, but what I hear about medical treatment up there tells me that I don’t want anything to do with the system you have!!

I have mixed emotions about that.  The meds my late wife was on and the ones I'm now on, (since we were over 65) are, with the exception of the transaction fee and an annual deduction of $100.00 paid for by a Federal/Provincial program. It would be a horrendous drain on my pension, if I had to pay the full cost our of pocket.
The medical Doctor situation is another, complicated story and I have to be careful here, because I don't want to sound like a racist or a bigot.

Our Prime Moron Minister opened the floodgates for immigration, which while very noble, was not thought out.

In a country of 34 million, bringing in nearly a million a year as immigrants and students (who usually stay on) with no plan or the resources to house them, feed them, provide medical care, and as we are finding, limited ability to provide them with the welfare and other social services needed, since we were geared up for 34 million residents.

A significant number of the legal entrants and their families have no means to support themselves in Canadian society. No language skills and little or no work skills suitable for our society. 

I won't discuss the estimated /reported additional 100,000 undocumented "Refugees/Asylum Seekers" with no papers etc. who flooded the NY/Quebec border at Roxham, QC or the numbers who crossed there and who have even fewer job prospects, given their job skills or why they came to Canada from the UAS, where they were already safe.

Much of the above, was just added to the situation we were already facing with medical professionals looking south for the higher paying jobs that were available, while their income here in Canada was not as great, due to the fact that the Health services, (Doctor Visits, hospital stays etc.) in each Province was funded through the Province from Federal coffers, out of Income Tax revenue etc.

Ya is right, bringing in, and allowing illegal boarder crossers is flooding our health care system..

One thing that would help stem the boarders is not to pay them, more than twice what normal senior's get.

And make it a policy that Canadian Citizens get priority in the health care system, after all We owe that nothing, or better yet ship them back...

I’m tired of paying taxes out of my bought and paid for government stipend and seeing people who never paid a dime into the system receive free and better treatment than I can get!!

 

My senator has introduced a bill to remove the income tax from Social Security income!  This would return the system to what it was originally and to what was promised when it was first introduced!!  
 

You can bet your sweet bippy that she got my vote last week!! I think the vote went 70-30 in her favor, running against a gun grabbing liberal who didn’t even win her home precinct!!

I’m fuming this weekend!! I mentioned that many of the overhead lights in my shop failed due to an apparent power surge.

 

We checked them out and I have ordered replacements.  They were SUPPOSED to arrive on this past Friday and we were going to replace the bad ones today.

 

NO SUCH FREAKIN’ LUCK!!

 

They’re now supposed to arrive no later than Wednesday!  With Thanksgiving on Thursday and all of the family stuff running through the coming weekend, it looks like the job won’t get done before the first of December!!

 

Blackwater is NOT  a happy camper!!

Damn! Damn! SIX DAMNS!!  

Just finished my weekly foot doctor visit.  The little place on the sole of my foot refuses to heal completely. We did some serious evaluation over the last couple of weeks and she’s recommended that I have ANOTHER  surgery on the foot!

 

The paralysis in that part of my foot has resulted in the skeletal structure becoming rigid and the bone behind the fourth, (now the new little) toe is pressing down against the tissue in the sole, causing a chronic pressure sore.

 

To relieve this pressure, it would be necessary to remove that bone.  It can be done through the top of the foot through a small incision and at the same time, a much more effective stem cell transplant could be applied to the damaged area that has plagued me for so long.  It’s an outpatient procedure and I am seriously considering having it done between Christmas and the New Year.

 

I have always been ready and willing to get stuff fixed and almost welcomed surgery when it would relieve a problem.  I will be sent to the scrapyard when I die to salvage the titanium and other materials that are holding me together these days.  But I have become very tired and ambivalent with hospitals and doctors’ offices of late!

 

JUST GRUMP ALL TO HELL AN BACK!!

Thanks for the update, I've been curious. That certainly sucks and is surely GRUMPALLTOHELL It's incredible that this issue has carried on so long. Good Luck Blackwater, sure hope for some success stories soon.
