Going to the foot doctor in the morning!!  She told me to bring the new footwear and orthotic with me.

If ya’s think I’m GRUMPY now, you won’t want to be around tomorrow if I can’t WALK out of that office!!

Prayers up from Ellie and me that you walk out with your new footwear on your feet.

I’d like to read that article!! EDIT:   I found the article and read it just now.  What the school and the teachers and administrators did is an absolute travesty!!  When the child’s behavior took its original turn, the parents should have been informed and included in ANY decision or course of action, PERIOD!!

That the parents were excluded from the process should be cause for immediate dismissal of any and all personnel involved!!

On a separate note:  I’m STILL on the damned scooter!!  Doctor was happy with the progress, but wanted me to give it at least another week!!

If it wasn’t for the great cowboy lunch we had today,  it would probably be scorched earth time!!  If my home health provider is satisfied with my condition on Friday, I may be able to try the new stuff during an engagement on Saturday evening.

We’ll see!

I’m almost there!  Just a tiny place that is still open. Hardly more than a millimeter square, but this is where I have been so many times over the last seven years!

I’m hoping that the extra caution this time will pay off!

Bill!  Hope your back gets better quickly!!  Been through enough of that to know what you’re going through!  Ain’t fun!

You bet your sweet…!!

STILL on the scooter!!  Outside chance by Wednesday, but I ain’t taking odds.

Tried the new footwear yesterday and found that it’ll require some modifications!

Banged the side of my foot and skinned up what’s now my little toe!

I got an appointment with my infections doctor in the morning and I figure he’ll want another round of antibiotics.

GRUMPALLTOHELL’N’GONE!!

I’m still grumpin’!!

I probably shouldn’t, but I’m going to anyway!  Doctor visit this morning. NO!! My foot still ain’t healed yet.  The good news is that I didn’t do any serious damage.  I’ll have to wait for the skint up toe to heal up, but it’s not a big issue. Better news is that next week we’re going to try a different approach.  She’s going to put a couple of sutures in on the spot that refuses to close.  It has shrunk again by half, but will not go away!

I am now able to use my brace, accompanied by a velcro strapped, low rise slipper until I can get back into shoes.  This will let me be a little more mobile and a lot more comfortable!

just a small grump today…

BUT DON’T GET USED TO IT AND STAY THE HELL OFF’N THE LAWN!!!

You need to ask your Doc about using a bio-electric (smart) bandage to aid in healing.  Seems to me you are the perfect candidate for this.

They’re still in the clinical study phase right now.  We’re exploring it.

Foot doc sewed up the last of the place on my foot yesterday!

    (no gripe there)

I’m receiving a small shipment of brass later today!

       (no gripe there)

We’re finally getting some rain here in middle Tennessee!

        (no gripe there)

All the candidates I voted for won yesterday!

          (no gripe there)

Nashville voted to buy a bunch of city buses that almost NOBODY rides and to add 600 new traffic lights to their streets!

NO MATTER HOW WELL THINGS ARE GOING, SOME BUNCH OF DUMBASSES WILL FIGURE OUT A WAY TO SCREW IT UP!!

GFREAKIN’RUMPALLTA’HELL’N’BACK!!

I’m wearing my lineman’s boots right now!!  Really unstable on the left foot with no brace to keep it from rolling out, but I’ve not put the outside ankle brace on the boot yet.

Limited experiment.  I’ll put the brace on when I get back to the house and I’m going to wear the boots tonight to go and see my grandson’s play.

Other than the instability, it feels really good!  We’ll have to check the bandaging to see if it’s safe to continue!!

HERE’S HOPING!!!

GET YOUR A$$ OFF’N THE GRASS!!

@Blackwater 53393 how'd the foot expedition go?

Limited success.  I didn’t do any new damage and I didn’t flop over anywhere.  Walking was uncomfortable and I wasn’t really steady.

I’m trying out an older set of deck shoes this afternoon for the final performance of the play.  They’re seemingly more stable to walk in, probably because they don’t have as much heel.

This makes the fifth or sixth time in the past seven and a half years that I’ve had to try to learn to walk again.  I’ll eventually get wider heels put on the boots and perhaps lower them half an inch.

More later!!

Again, limited success!!  Didn’t do any damage and I was steadier on my feet.  More comfortable and more capable of getting up and down from a sitting position.

I’m home now after four hours on the road, (I drove up to Kentucky to pick up my mom and back to see the play and then another round trip to get her back so’s she can go to church in the morning.) a nice meal after the show, and all this in the drizzling rain!

I ain’t doin’ nothin’ for the next couple of days but sit back and watch racing and maybe do a little something in the reloading room.

Use the back door!!!

Unlock the back patio door and pull out the stop.

Walk out to the fence gate enclosing the backyard.

Gate's locked.

Go back inside and get the keys.

Go back to the gate and unlock it.

Go to the door to pick up the lunch.

Realize the door opens inwards.

Discover the door is locked.

Return to the fence gate and unlock it.

Drop the lunch and the drink trying to re-lock the gate.

Go back inside and discover you have the wrong lunch order.

Go and lie down.

One of my cohorts was in my shop the other day and when he left, he turned out all of the lights!

When Hatfield went in there to get some work done, only a few came back on.  I’ve had a few that failed to turn on now and then, but this time whole strings wouldn’t light!

I figured it might be a switch, but I pulled it apart and the switches were all fine. These are LED strips, 4 feet long, and sometimes they unplug themselves when there’s a major temperature change due to expansion/contraction.

SO!!  Today, I’ve gotta get up there and shove them all back together and there’s one fixture that I know needs replacing.

I just wish there was some way to solder all the connections.  They’re bonded in plastic and if I cut ‘em open, the warranty is voided!

OH WELL!!  Gonna mean fifteen or more trips up a ladder!! Glad I got some help, but I ain’t happy about it!!  It’s a good thing that they cut my electric bill so much or I’d be really GRUMPY!!

Jesus, Don't be climbing ladders yet, especially 15 times! Get Hatfield to do it. After all, he's the one that shut em off! Don't be messing up that dang foot!

I’m not climbing the ladder. J. Mark is coming to do the aerial work. I’ll handle the floor work and connections.

It wasn’t Hatfield that turned ‘em off, (I often turn them off myself) but a very close friend with whom we share shop space and equipment!

Every once in a while, the silly light fixtures will shift a little when it gets hot or when it gets cold and one or two will quit.  This is the first time that a whole lot of ‘em acted up. Not a big deal, but a little inconvenient with stuff in the shop that needs to be finished and delivered.
