OH Quit yer whining!

That's probably the cleanest they've been since the last time she gave ya a bath and scrubbed ya down!

(Enough abuse or do ya want some more?)

Maybe not cleaner, (some of the stuff I mess with makes things hospital clean) but after the prune look faded, they DO look pretty good!!  B)

Got a pair of red foxes in our neighborhood.

My little dog want to play with them.

She doesn't believe me when I tell her that foxes don't play nice and they will hurt her.

She doesn't get to go out after dark without a leash, and I don't go out without a gun.

I've heard of them as pets, even coyotes, but I don't think I'd trust one around anything small they might think was edible.

Now a skunk, hand reared from a kitten, is a real cuddler.

Except when they decide to chase their toys and play with their ping-pong balls on the kitchen floor at 3:00 AM and Mommy and Daddy are still in bed.

I love it when they raise a new bunch of Kits and I can watch the Kits playing King of the Castle on the hill out my south facing Windows... I don't have any stock and they get some of the Gophers that Eat the Hay I do grow....

Back to the foot doctor yesterday.  It’s been two weeks and there’d been no bleeding, but we found a tiny spot that the doc says looks like a blood blister.  He cleaned up around it and put a little bandage on it.

Tomorrow is Schoolmarm’s back surgery and I’m still having to favor the foot.  Not what I was hoping for!!

I’m back in the doctor’s office in two weeks, but I’ll be tending a recovering wife ‘til then, so it’s touch and go again for now.

I would rather have the foxes , than the coyotes

Foxes help keep the small rodents down around here, they, like non-poisonous snakes are welcome. Poisonous snakes and coyotes are in danger of severe cases of lead poisoning.

All you wanted to, any way you wanted to

No complaint or suggestions about how to do it better.

Well, the brat, (Schoolmarm) is starting to move around better.  Can’t get hold of the surgeon. He overprescribed her medication, according to the pharmacy, and they won’t fill the prescription until he contacts them.

Been calling for two days now and he hasn’t called back.  If I don’t hear from him tomorrow morning, it won’t be a good thing for him!!

Schoolmarm has stopped the medication and abandoned the walker!

I’ve been doing all of the cooking and the dishes for over two weeks and most of the rest of the household chores.

I see the light at the end of one of my tunnels!!

Gotta put a new top rail on the side deck today. I have a grandson here as my assistant and it’s a nice looking day out there!

I shall refrain from grummping for the time being!

UPDATE: Got the deck cleaned up and the new top rail installed!  I was just about useless but the kid was a huge help!  Actually, I can do a little bit at a time and then sit and rest and regain my equilibrium.  He handed me tools and did most of the hauling and straightening. I just ran the saw, drilled holes, and ran screws in with the screw gun.  He did all of the clean-up and brought the tools in!

Now!! I’m gonna take the rest of the day and recuperate!!

He likely learned a lot today, including a new language??????

Raining here just as I went out to BBQ some kebabs.
Heck with it. I'll wear a raincoat.

Now GET OFF MY LAWN!

He did learn a couple of things today. It’s doubtful that language was one of them.

After hearing him conversing with other players on the video games that they play, I might could teach him some effective phrasing, but he’s come close to mastery of the verbiage!

I could tell that he was a little uncomfortable at first.  His mom’s boyfriend is verbally abusive and a bully and Bopper doesn’t like working with/around him.

I make a point of carefully explaining what I need and how to do things and I support his inquisitiveness.  He’s not lazy and he’s quick on the uptake.

I love spending time with him and I think he enjoys our time together too.

Other than me being wore slap out, this was a no grump day for me!! Too many of these and I might have to turn in my Grump card….

DON’T HOLD YER BREATH WAITIN’ FER THAT TA’ HAPPEN!!

Well, today started off really good with Church, a potluck dinner then Afternoon Service. Good preaching and then a good nap. Cardinals won, so that was good. Then started a project on a friend's 1911 and managed to drop a tiny pin which promptly vanished! So, pulled one from one of my 1911s to finish the repair. Costing me more in postage from Brownell's than the pin. Grump. But then a bit of good fortune, I found a missing rear sight for one of my rifles while looking for another part, so went ahead and installed that. So overall, a minor Grump day.

SO!! Today is Schoolmarm’s birthday. She’s continuing to recover from her back surgery and has instructed me to take her to the Mexican restaurant that we like so well for her birthday dinner.  That’s the good!

My 89 year old mother is hospitalized with pneumonia in Kentucky, a little over an hour’s drive from here.  They have her stabilized and recovering, but she will be there for an unknown amount of time for physical therapy and rehab. That’s the bad.

My foot has regressed some and the doctor has called in an orthotics and footwear specialist. He will be designing and fitting me with special insoles and either modifying or replacing my shoes in order to isolate and “offload” the problem area to, hopefully, prevent further recurrences of the problem. That’s the hopeful!

After the fitting, I’ll probably be back in a cast for a couple more weeks. AND!! It’s going to be another week before the specialist can see me!  That’s the aggravating!!

NOW, hopefully, I’ve got all my GRUMPS laid out for the week!!

SO!   GET OFF THE LAWN !!
