I cannot stat this as fact as I was only involved in a conversation about this very subject at the range yesterday, but here is what I was told.

 

The guy who was saying this said he had worked at the Lake City Munitions company for several years. He said that even though Lake City Munitions is owned by the government, they own the name only. He said the machines and the supplies are owned privately. He also said that the military contracts only support 15% on the companies income. It was his thoughts that if the potato shuts Lake City down that the company will just go private and dump the military contracts as they make 85% of their income from the private sector. 

 

Again, I have no facts or data to back this up so take that for what it's worth.
