1885 Browning 45-70 Sight Mount w/o exposed tang

Has anyone ever mounted a Vernier type sight on a Browning 1885 without an exposed tang? Marble Sights has one that is supposed to work, but before I get the item, I'd like to hear if anyone has done this themselves. (I live in Hawaii and the only gunsmith I could find did not want to try to do this).

I have one of those 1885s without a tang. The marbles sight comes with wood screws to mount the sight to the  stock. It seems hokey but mine holds zero and has won a few long range events. Pre drill the wood at least the size of the screw shank to avoid splitting the wrist of the stock.
