Col Del Rio
Has anyone ever mounted a Vernier type sight on a Browning 1885 without an exposed tang? Marble Sights has one that is supposed to work, but before I get the item, I'd like to hear if anyone has done this themselves. (I live in Hawaii and the only gunsmith I could find did not want to try to do this). Col. Del Rio
Straight Arrow Hombre
I have one of those 1885s without a tang. The marbles sight comes with wood screws to mount the sight to the stock. It seems hokey but mine holds zero and has won a few long range events. Pre drill the wood at least the size of the screw shank to avoid splitting the wrist of the stock. Col Del Rio
Thanks for the info! Was it hard to do? I will have to do it myself.
