Long Hunter SASS #20389L
Yes, it is 100% US made. Turnbull received most of the parts when USFA went out of business for payment owed. Any DT serial numbered gun is built from those parts and finished by Turnbull. Nice guns!! Edit for value: The last one I had in the box sold for $2,300. MBFields
I was thinking the USFA premium guns were Turnbull color case hardened?
Long Hunter SASS #20389L
Turnbull finished the USFA Premium guns. USFA owed him for that work and that's why he ended up with the inventory. To clear the debt. At least that's what I was told back then.
Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933
I guess Turnbull was lucky he did not get the remaing Zip inventory.
Dutch Nichols, SASS #6461
Actually the DT guns were made during USFA's regular production runs. They were in payment to Doug for services rendered. he did also take parts when they went under but the bulk of the parts went to EGW. They were selling USFA parts long after they closed. edited in .... guns made after USFA closing were also no longer marked USFA in any way, the frame had the Turnbull logo stamped where the rampant Colt would go if it were a Colt and the bbl lines were marked as a Turnbull mfr gun. Sometimes he would also stamp DT on the left trigger guard. I sold a NIB 021DT gun 3 mos ago on Gunbroker absolutely NIB with all the goodies for $3500.
