I have flown Aeroflot and S7 many times (over 100) and both were aways up to snuff, it was the lesser airlines that were having crashes. most of their planes were leased Airbus and Boeing, I suspect also Embraer of Brazil, which are not being paid for and are having parts pirated. some parts are being machined in Russia. All this creates a "bad logbook" situation. Even China will not allow the planes into its airspace. I have flown Aeroflot and S7 may times, both were totally up to snuff on safety. it was lesser airlines that were cutting corners and having problems.
