Assault weapon ban in NE state?

Wasn't there a ban or buy out  on them in Maryland or Connecticut maybe a few years ago and there was basically non-compliance?

Not in CT or NY, after the Sandy Hook shooting both states passed laws requiring "assault weapons" and at least in CT, magazines holding more than 10 rounds had to be registered with the state.  Supposedly compliance was about 30%.  In CT no effort has been made to go after the non-compliant, however if you caught with an un-registered "assault" weapon, you will get charged.

Since those we elect rarely have a clue about the laws they try to write, any "assault" weapon manufactured prior to 1994 became legal again.  Class III shooters who owned belt fed weapons had to register their links, usually by the weight of a 5 gallon bucket. One can still buy an original or copy of a hand cranked Gatling gun, but it is now illegal to possess the feeding device, even if it is an original feeding device.

And Maryland isn't even close to being a Northeastern or New England state!  :P

Well, its northeast of Oklahoma!:P

Lots of places are.

I was in a restaurant in Oklahoma and the waitress asked , “Where y’all from?”.

I said, “New Hampshire.”

she asked, “Is that in the United States?”
