The article states “Much controversy surrounds the origin of the hamburger. However, it most likely first appeared in the 19th or early 20th centuries.”

Then proceeded to not talk about these controversies.
I guess it was a quick story before the crew headed out for burgers.

Some history:

Well, there are 3 articles to peruse. I really don’t care who came up with the “Hamburger”. I just like eating them.

Pat, I think the best "secret" ingredient is the Cantadina” diced tomatoes with roasted garlic & herbs.  You can use other diced tomatoes with herbs and such, but the garlic & herbs in the Cantadina brand add just a very special something.

I will recognize this day as Hamburger Day! Any excuse for having hamburgers is fine with me. :D

I wonder when they got so common?

There was an episode of The Adventures of Superman. These three hoods were holding Jimmy and Lois hostage in Perry's office. They'd been there a while and were getting hungry, so Jimmy called out for "sandwiches".

That's all. Sandwiches.

When the food arrived, Jimmy looked in the sack and said, in a tone of pleased surprise, "Hey, hamburgers!!"

Like hamburgers was a special treat. He hadn't expected hamburgers. Corned beef on rye, or roast beef on a roll. Something like that. But hamburgers? Wow!

But now there are hamburger stands everywhere. Hamburgers aren't no big thing.

I wonder when the change happened?

I usually put an r in it when I say the name - contRadina.  Nice to know that I'm not the only one that mispronounces food names.

I had two burgers with a little coleslaw and macaroni salad. I didn’t think about a photograph until they were gone. Yummy! :)
