Waxahachie Kid #17017 L
We've all seen dogs come in out of the rain, and shake off of the water. Perhaps the designers should take a lesson from man's best friend, and engineer a Mars rover to simulate a dog shaking off the water, only this would be Mars dust. This isn't their first landing on Mars, so I am fairly sure they have encountered this problem before. Perhaps this may be some sort of planned obsolescence, and the demise of the rover is anticipated, and accepted, at some point. Anyway, you'd think they would have come up with a way to overcome this, so the rover could function, and gather data, longer. Maybe have a built- in 1950's era service station robot-attendant, to pop up out of the body of the rover, to remove the dust, like they removed the bug guts, from the windshield of a 1954 Hudson. The attendant could be built to resemble Gomer, at Wally's Gas Station, and say "Shazam" when he is finished cleaning the solar panels. All I can say is: "Goooolllllllllllyyyyyyy".
