Buckshot Bear
Scientists land deepest fish ever caught off Australia from 6.5km below https://www.smh.com.au/environment/conservation/scientists-land-deepest-fish-ever-caught-off-australia-from-6-5km-below-20220504-p5ail5.html Marine researchers have landed the deepest fish ever caught off Australia from 6.5 kilometres underwater using a yabby trap, bought from a Perth tackle shop, tied to a $100,000 piece of scientific monitoring equipment resistant to extreme pressure. The two new unnamed species of snailfish have faces frozen in a frown like a sad clown and bodies made of translucent gel instead of skin and scales. Cypress Sun
Soooo, what they're saying is, if you are going to fish for them...make sure you start fishing when you're hungry as the fish cooks itself while you're reeling it in. Charters come with rod, reel, bait and tartar sauce!
Smuteye John SASS#24774
A yabby trap? I hope that's nothing like a Rat-L-Trap. It's a crank bait and 4 miles deep is a whole lot of cranking. (Besides, who can throw one that far?)
