Pee Wee #15785
I have a 1971 Winchester Musket in .30-30 that I plan on putting a Douglas Barrel chambered in .38-55 on. What bore would you use, a .375" or a .377" diameter ? What would be the best twest, 12 or 14, shooting a 265 gr bullet.
Rancho Roy
Easier to send it to the fellow in Oregon that will bore it out to .375 and chamber it in 38-55. I've had him do three rifles for me. All shoot amazingly well and very inexpensive. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=http://www.35caliber.com/&ved=2ahUKEwjm8IXro433AhXDhIkEHeVJDIIQFnoECAQQAQ&usg=AOvVaw3oQTqs5dQguMzK8Wt-I8EQ
Sedalia Dave
Definitely .375 that way you can shoot jacketed bullets with excellent accuracy. J E S rifle reboring does excellent work. I shave a Marlin 30-30 Cowboy the he rebooted to 38-55. Will shoot MOA with the right loads.
Pee Wee #15785
I know JES is top notch but I want to keep the barrel to restore the gun if I want. Not a lot of muskets out there.
