Copper washed .22 ammo?

A number of shooters have been using .22s at club matches. A question came up regarding copper washed vs. waxed bullets. For any other pistol and rifle ammo used in SASS matches, only lead or poly coated bullets are allowed. Does the restriction for lead only also apply for .22s? And if so why.
Interestingly enough I just bought a box of poly coated .22s made by CCI.

The restriction forbidding "copper washed" ammunition was removed from the relevant section in the SHB in 2019.

- May not be jacketed, semi-jacketed, hollow point, plated, or gas checked. It must be all lead. Moly-Disulfide, polymer coated bullets, or equivalents are acceptable.

Seems like I've seen somewhere a requirement for .22 ammo to be lower powered (subsonic?) for CAS.  But I don't know if anyone is questioning it at matches.

Buckaroo/Buckarette: 13 and under.

o Buckaroo/Buckarette competitors must use revolvers, rifles, and shotguns meeting the external standards but may be chambered in .22 LR for revolvers and rifles and .410 caliber, 28 ,or 32 gauge shotguns.

o Standard velocity ammunition for these firearms must be used.

Okay, but what is "standard velocity" for a .22?  I grabbed 3 boxes of .22's I had handy.  One says "High Velocity", one says 1200 fps, one says 1280 fps.  Are those standard velocity?  I guess I'm just saying that I haven't noticed anyone paying attention at matches as to what type of ammo is being shot.

Abilene,

Many, if not most, of the 'all lead' .22 rimfire bullets on the market are in the "Standard Velocity" range, which is basically

1000 - 1080 fps range.

I'm only speaking from my experience using a wide variety of .22 ammo thru the years.

p.s. - I just acquired some CCI "Standard Velocity" .22 ammo with a rated velocity of 1070 fps.   I think these velocity

rating are for a rifle length barrel.

It's kind of like defining a "high velocity shotgun shell."

If a box of factory shotgun ammo is labeled "SUPER MAGNUM HIGH SPEED SUPER-DUPER GOOSE SHREDDER", it's probably NOT LEGAL. B)
