The Gunboat Gun Cart

The biggest draw to CAS for me was the gun carts. The first Cowboys match at Norco that I attended had so many styles of gun carts that it was mind boggling. It seemed that no two were alike.

To this day I still enjoy seeing gun carts that shooters have built themselves, the creativity and ingenuity are incredible. This cart that Realtree is using is no exception . It is absolutely amazing.

Yes, a real aluminum canoe was used in its construction. There are so many well thought out features on this cart. The oar is fashioned to use as a tow handle.

I visited with Realtree quite a bit about this cart and even though he didn’t build it he was quite knowledgeable about its construction. In my opinion, had there been a gun cart contest at EOT this cart would have won, it is that good.

Agree mate. I'm always checking out everyone else's gunbuggies at the various shoots. It gives me ideas for planned future upgrades of my own cart.

The first one was only set up for a single set of kit as the wife & I had to share. Well that didn't last long, so I built a new one for two sets of rigs, ammo etc. Only downside being overall size and bulkiness.

So I'm now working on plans for another pair of carts that will be collapsible and hopefully take up a lot less space in the back of the Prado. Missus is rather particular about what she wants, so that's going to be an exercise in patience and flexibility to ensure I produce 'exactly' what she wants! LOL!

Yul Lose, I made it back home to Florida safely.  The Gun Boat is still on it's way being driven by a good pard, Sgt FL Cracker.  The picture below is another creation by Wild Whiskers.  I asked him to send me more photos of his carts so that I may share with you.  I know that you can appreciate his work.  I would love to be a fly on the wall and listen to you two artists speak with each other about your craft.

Realtree I’m glad you got home safely and I really enjoyed our visit. You need to hook me up with him, I’d love to talk gun carts with him. He’s a talented craftsman for sure with a very good imagination. I wonder if he lays in bed at night thinking of the next gun cart creation like I do. This cart is over the top cool.

The only thing that would make that cart cooler is if the cannons worked.

Yul Lose, i promised you a few more pictures of Wild Whiskers creativity.  This past weekend, we shot the Ides of March in Taveras Florida.  It was the State championships and Whiskers had several of his gun carts on display.  I hope you are very well my friend.  Enjoy!

Man, he does have a creative mind. Very well done. Have him call me some time, I’d love to visit with him. Is he a shooter also?

I Spoke with him several times this past weekend at the Florida State Championships and told him to call you.  He did say he really wanted to know your background.  Was great to meet you in Az and maybe we will cross paths another day.  Take care, my friend.  Realtree

Another creative gun cart made by Wild Whiskers.  The proud owner of this one is Sergeant FL Cracker, pictured above.  Yul Lose, I thought you would be interested to see this one.  Take care my good friend.

That is a cool gun cart. What I like about his carts is the uniqueness of each build.

The carts are awesome..on a side note I noticed the sign''Chamber flags are mandatory'...happens a lot down-under, didn't think it would in your neck of the woods...

The chamber flags have nothing do with the cowboy aspect of the range.  Maybe during regular range operations.
