A gunshop I worked at after retiring was in A John Deere dealership, the owner had opened the gun shop without asking them. Since their was nothing in their contract, they couldn't force him to close it. But, they made sure that no other dealers could no longer open a shop. There are no handguard restrictions and muzzle brakes are okay. It’s the “flash hiders” that are illegal. Pistol grips make the gun an assault weapon if the magazine is removable. Between the stock, pistol grip, forward vertical grip, the thing on the muzzle, the short barrel and short minimum OAL with the stock all the way in, I figger that the CA DOJ would wet themselves over it.
