Who is your favorite Character in ANY movie - not the star, the Character.

I'm going to start another thread for most hated characters, but for favorites, the ones that quickly come to mind that haven't already been mentioned:

The Great Leslie (Tony Curtis) The Great Race

Professor Fate (Jack Lemmon) The Great Race

(OK, I have to add) Maggie Dubois (Natalie Wood) The Great Race

Westley / The Man in Black (Cary Elwes) The Princess Bride

Charlie Waite (Kevin Costner) Open Range

Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Jr.) Sherlock Holmes, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

Conner MacLeod (Christopher Lambert) Highlander

Maj. Bruce Crandall (Greg Kinnear) We Were Soldiers

No no no! Much as I like RDJ, Jeremy Brett, from the PBS series, was the absolute personification Of Sherlock Holmes.

We can agree to disagree. Just because he is my favorite, doesn't mean he has to be yours. I also don't expect you to like your hamburgers the way I do.

Agreed! Even THIS place would be boring if we all agreed on everything. And I like Lettuce, tomatoes, and mayonnaise.

See? You lose me with the mayo! But if you're ever around for burgers, I'll make sure to have some on hand for you. The real stuff, not the Miracle Whip stuff.

I just noticed that you're in Ohio. I'm from Columbus, and I get back there every now and again. I'll let you know.

Have you seen Sherlock played by Benedict Cumberbatch? Absolutely brilliant.

If that was the one from Netflix or Amazon, I have. But Jeremy Brett was fantastic. He insisted on accuracy in both his characterization and the stories.

Richard ‘Rick’ Blane from Casablanca.

His life as a tough and mysterious ex-Pat fighting Fascism in multiple excursions: running guns to Ethiopia and fighting against Franco in Spain, in addition to shooting Major Strasser and joining up with the Free French in Brazzaville sounds like a heroic and adventurous life worth living.

I know I already answered once, but Hugh Laurie's character in sense and sensibility is hilarious.
